Create a Customer Avatar
The unmet need I want to solve is the lack of platforms for students and teenagers to compete and showcase their talents. So, my prototypical customer would be school and college-going students. My prototypical customer would be around 14-21 years old and he/she would most likely like to compete and show their talents. My customers would also have special skills which are not found in many others and would like to improve their skills by competing in competitions.
What I have in common with the avatar is that I also like to compete against others and I like to show my hidden talents to the world. Also, I am of the same age group as my avatar and I would love to use the experience I gained from these competitions to improve my skills. I don't think this as a coincidence because I felt that there was an opportunity to exploit as I felt there was an unmet need present just like my customer.
Hi Toshi,
ReplyDeleteI think you were very accurate with the demographic and what your prototypical customer would be like. Your product has a very clear audience that you have been describing from the very start of this class it seems like so this assignment must of came very easily to you. With this being a concept you yourself would like to use it makes sense that you would be within the age group you are targeting.

ReplyDeleteHello Toshi,
ReplyDeleteCreating a customer avatar for your particular idea is probably one of the more challenging tasks. For one, the only real constraint you can assign to your customer base is that they are between 14 and 21 years old. Other than that, your demographic is likely to be extremely diverse in terms of gender and ethnic profile. One thing that you did to overcome that is focus on their skillset. After all, specialized knowledge is one way competitors would be different than non-competitors. Another thing to account for is that some of your demographic encompasses parents wanting and paying for their kids to compete.
hey toshi, great article. I see that you have spent some time thoroughly thinking and trying to understand the unmet needs of your customer. I would imagine that it is a little easier for you to do so becuase you are trying to solve an unmet need of your own. you are your own potential customer in a sense. you dont have to try to look through the lens of your customer becuase you share that same visualization already.
